Deep Venous Thrombosis After Arthroscopic Partial Meniscectomy: Case Report
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction: Knee arthroscopy is the most common orthopedic procedure, with complications below 1%. Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is rare. Case presentation: Two male patients (25 and 42 years old) diagnosed with meniscal lesions and treated arthroscopically developed edema, pain, and positive Homans sign. One had DVT and the other DVT with pulmonary embolism, treated with enoxaparin and rivaroxaban. Conclusion: There is no consensus on post-arthroscopy anticoagulation. Despite low incidence, DVT can occur in patients of different ages, emphasizing timely diagnosis and treatment.
