Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic caused reorganizations in all strategic sectors of society, including the health sector in order to supply all patients demands, not only those with SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, but also those with traumatic injuries. In this scenario protocols were created to attend patients with surgical pathologies and with suspected or confirmed of COVID-19 diagnosis. With this argument, we present the case of a patient diagnosed with a right distal radius fracture and SARS -CoV-2 immunoglobulin G positive, which underwent surgery at the IESS Quito Sur Hospital, complying with all the biosecurity measures established in the hospital's management protocols, from the patient`'s admission to the emergency service, until his discharge from hospital, in order to protect the welfare of medical personnel and provide adequate patient care.
