Abstract
Cervical dislocations have classically been associated with traumatic spinal cord injuries. Cervical facet dislocation after trauma usually causes narrowing of the spinal canal and neurologic deficits. The most common levels of dislocation are C5-6 and C6-7. This paper of this closed maneuver to reduce dislocation of the cervical spine, we present 16 cases where the maneuver was performed satisfactorily. From 16 reductions, 11 were successful and 5 were failed, these were carried out in a time greater than 24 hours post luxation and were at the C6-C7 cervical level. None of the patients in our series had neurological deterioration or cardiorespiratory arrest, which is why it is considered a safe maneuver.
