Abstract

A 55-year-old man with a proximal humerus fracture complicated by glenohumeral subluxation and glenoid fracture is presented. Initially treated with ORIF, the patient developed malunion and subacromial impingement. An osteotomy of the greater tuberosity with reinsertion of the supraspinatus tendon using an open technique was performed. At 4 months, significant improvement was observed (140° extension and pain reduction). The case highlights the efficacy of open surgery in complex fractures.
