Extensor Indicis Proprius to Extensor Pollicis Longus Transfer: Case Report
Main Article Content
Abstract
Extensor Pollicis Longus (EPL) rupture causes disability in thumb extension and pinch function. A 68-year-old female with a 25-year-old EPL rupture was treated with Extensor Indicis Proprius (EIP) transfer under WALANT anesthesia. The outcome was satisfactory, with improved extension ranges (MCP from -60° to 8°; IP from -85° to 18°) and good function. EIP transfer is a safe and effective technique for chronic cases.
