Experience with Lumbar Microsequestrectomy in Patients Diagnosed with Disc Herniation
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction: Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common cause of pain, and surgery is considered for patients with persistent symptoms. Despite microdiscectomy being the standard, more conservative alternatives like microsequestrectomy have been explored. The aim is to report our results with microsequestrectomy, focusing on recurrence and reoperation rates. Materials and Methods: Retrospective study of 66 patients undergoing microsequestrectomy for single-level LDH. Demographic, clinical, and radiological data were analyzed. Results: Significant improvement in VAS (p < 0.05). 80.3% returned to work without restrictions. 6.1% had recurrences. Conclusions: Microsequestrectomy was effective in relieving lumbar pain and enabling a successful return to daily activities with a low recurrence rate.
